Various small classes are offered covering material such as:

Beginner to advanced conversation
Grammar
Kanji
Reading comprehension
Listening comprehension
Japanese Proficiency Test
Office Japanese

Schedule

Class times will be organized according to student demand. In case of a change of the lesson schedule, the students should let us know by three o'clock of the previous day at latest. When students change the lesson schedule, they have to make it up within the week. If students are 15 minutes or more tardy for class without previously notifying SIL they will be considered absent.

Course Fees

All fees should be paid at the end of the month before a new lesson month starts. Application and lesson fees do not include textbooks. If required for certain courses textbooks and workbooks must be bought separately. However certain photocopied material is included in lesson fees.
An additional heating expense is added to tuition from October through May (\500 for 4hours/month).

Group Programs

Who Can Apply?

Groups of business or professional people who wish to learn or improve their oral and written skills for career advancement.
Groups of college or university students studying Japanese (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) who wish to improve their language skills.
A group is defined as three or more people. If you do not apply as a member of a same-level group, SIL will place you in an existing class.

Curriculum & Classes

SIL specializes in intensive programs that provide 4 to 6 hours of training per day, totaling between 20 and 30 hours per week (the exact number of hours varies according to the course). Courses run between 3 and 8 weeks, depending on the group's desired length and purpose of study. Longer or shorter courses shall be arranged upon request. Classes run within one of SIL's quarters: Spring (starting in April); Summer (starting in July); Fall (starting in October); and Winter (starting in January). Classes are made up by groups of 3 to 10 people (see note in "Who Can Apply" above). Each course studies all six of the following areas: grammar, conversation, reading comprehension, essay writing, idioms, and listening comprehension (through video).
